To Our Fellow Adventurers,
Thank you.
On the thirteenth day of April, 619 (1019 by the Hadrani calendar), we united as a strike force to deal a devastating blow against our enemy, the Sessuars. Five hours into the afternoon, we strode across a sandbar to lay siege to two of their war ships. In the first attack, we boarded the larger of the two vessels and fought our way through top to bottom of every deck and floor in an attempt to reach a formal magic ritual we knew to be in progress. While we were unsuccessful in stopping the formal magic ritual, through our efforts we managed to sink the ship and with it numerous crates of supplies that would have been integral to the Sessuar. Having sunk the first vessel, we boarded the smaller armored ship. Similar to the first ship, we fought our way through every deck and floor, though this time in effort to reach the Sessuar Brood Mother. It is through the powers imbued by the Sessuar Brood Mother that the Sessuar are able to rift from one location to another. Though we were unsuccessful in capturing and/or killing the Sessuar Brood Mother, it should be known that she was severely wounded and is now unable to instill the Sessuar with the ability to rift. The small war ship remains intact and is now under the care of Captain Pennywise.
We learned a great deal about our enemy this April faire. In their encampment, which holds upwards of 10,000 enemies by our count, a waystone resided encompassed by a circle. Surrounding the circle and waystone were four blood portals positioned outside of that circle. Each of the portals led to one of the following places: Elysia, Hadran, Volta, and the Sessuar homelands. Saturday evening, the adventurers rallied once more and took a tremendous risk. We traveled to the aforementioned waystone, destroyed the circle protecting it, and destroyed all four portals before calling a hasty retreat. While our initial hope was to destroy one, or hopefully two of the portals, with the strike force moving as a cohesive unit, we were able to annihilate all four portals before the enemy could respond with any force. Our success could not have been achieved without our allies. Simultaneously to our strike, our allies were creating a distraction elsewhere on the Wilddeep/Sessuar boarder. Without a doubt, had it not been for our allies, this attack on the Sessuar would have certainly been a suicide mission.
Concerning our intelligence, we learned this past weekend that our foes are particularly fussy about their food and refuse to eat anything from our lands, preferring to import food from their homeland. Destroying the blood portal back to their homeland is thus a significant achievement for us in weakening the Sessuar. Their general, a man of great strength, is quick to anger and tends to take on a greenish tint when his temper flares. We know of a sword with a flaming blade and a green dragon's head for the crossguard. It is alleged that this sword has the ability to obliterate anyone tied to Life or Tyrra herself. It is suspected that the aforementioned general of the Sessuar may wield this weapon. While it has not yet been confirmed, it is thought that the Sessuar may have within their ranks a green dragon who may be known as the Blood Dragon. Information gathering is still an ongoing process; some reports are describing the green dragon and the Sessuar general as one in the same. We hope to receive more concrete information regarding the Sessuar general and the Blood Dragon in the coming weeks.
From prior faires, we know the Sessuar are tied to or allied with other draconic forces. We know they take on slaves, and at times will ritualistically turn these slaves into hounds that hunt and kill mindlessly, at the bidding of their master. At this time, we have not succeeded in harming a Hound until its Master has been disposed of. Like most humans, the Sessuar are susceptible to alchemy. The draconic beings are extremely susceptible to weapons forged out of Orichalcum. The bond/tie to the Sessuar can be broken through an antidote that has been created by King Equus’s Earth Guild Master.
The Sessuar have gathered allies of their own through the enslavement of Emperor Amalic Acoma of the Hadran Empire. Emperor Acoma has fled Hadran and is last reported to have been within the Sessuar encampment near the Wilddeep boarder. The Hadran Empire is under extreme duress without Emperor Acoma’s leadership. It has been rumored that nearly 30% of Hadran’s nobles and 40% of the military have heeded their Emperor’s call to join the Sessuar, thinking they were loyal to Hadran, not part of some nefarious, evil plan fashioned by the Sessuar. It is our hope that if we are able to rescue or neutralize Emperor Acoma that we will eliminate a significant portion of the Sessuar force. The Hadran Empire and the Kingdom of Dragonreach have been close allies for a number of years, each benefitting from the relationship. Should one entity fall to the Sessuar, it is almost assured that so shall the other.
If anyone has any additional information to contribute to our efforts to victoriously end the war against the Sessuar, please share what you can here or send word privately to any one of us.
To those of you fighting alongside us against these abominations, you are the reason all is not lost. Though the enemy is great, we are greater so long as we continue to burn brightly, not as individual candles but as a united bonfire. We will restore peace to Dragonreach and Hadran. We are a force to be reckoned with and we will emerge from this war victorious. We are proud to stand beside each and every one of you and call you allies. Our thanks is extended to each and every one of you for taking a stand with us and for strengthening Dragonreach in this time of need.
