I fear that the creatures have found a more efficient means of traveling between The Unhindered Lands and the town spoken of by the dark magus. Tracking the enraged dire bears for days now, I’m not but five leagues out from Caladore . Oddly more tracks have joined them and yet are newer to the area, as if they did not travel a the great distance at all. I have found not just dire bears tracks, but now the paw of wolf and cat as well.
Local villagers say that a gathering of merchants from varying lands convenes at the upcoming market faire. I must warn the townspeople of the beasts touched by the seeping magic of The Unhindered Lands, lest they be overrun.
If only my nights were not plagued by the taint of the unclean. Last night, despite sleeping without fire, I was accosted by undead rising from the earth itself! They were not your garden variety skeleton or ghoul. Covered in ethereal gauze & wrappings with a faint yellow glow to their eye, it was the cursed touch of mummies that I faced. The wind whispers that these creatures too draw close to Caladore, but even it does not know from whence they came… ] My provisions low, I must press on. Something weighs upon my very being with every footfall, something in the shadows. It pulls at my mind and heavies my heart. Only on the
Lake of Sighs itself have I ever felt such a draw. There is but little time. I can only hope that the adventurers of Caladore live up to their reputation or the journey will be for naught.
