Hi All,
I just want to say, I thought everyone did a great job staying in character this event and playing a great game! Kuddos to us all!
I want to remind everyone I am not calling anyone out just going over the rules so that we are all playing on the same field. It is important that we discuss the rules so please bring up your questions and thoughts on these or anything else you saw this weekend. 90% of the game is super fun and easy. There are just a few situations now and then that get confusing. I, along with hopefully you, get a lot of knowledge out of discussing the rules and solidifying the correct rules in my mind. Repetition is the best way to learn something. Even if you are new and were confused about something this weekend that seems like everyone knows; I guarantee you that at least one other person would benefit from you bringing it up here and discussing it.

I read this on the NERO LARP facebook page and know it is something that is done here. NERO Kzoo does not always require you to also say Magic or Normal when using the essence on your magic sword. So instead of 5 Magic Ice many people say 5 Ice instead. Just a reminder, this is a regional thing and when you go to other chapters they may get nickpicky that you say the full weapon damage call. No need to change what you are doing in Kzoo just an FYI for those who travel outside Kzoo.
Imprison is only removed by Dispel Magic. Sorry not Release which works on Pin, Bind, Web, Confine and physical manacles/ropes; also will negate a paste of stickiness.
Sleep, if someone is under the effects of a sleep they can be woken up with 60 seconds of shaking and yelling. This has not changed from ed. to ed. but I did hear people thought it got removed in 9th ed. for some reason (which it did not).
Interrupting spells: I have been thinking about this one a bit as it is confusing. This is new for 9th ed. and it is clarified in the Errata. Plus in NERO it is different than when Kzoo was in that game with the mists (in the mists you can cast magic and throw alchemy while taking body damage). In NERO if you are casting magic or throwing alchemy it is up to the "caster" to announce Focus (a monster ability) or Armor if their attack is not interrupted. Otherwise it is assumed that if you are attacking a caster, and hit them while they are casting, that the spell is interrupted and does not count.
If you did not know it, Dark Elves are required to be grey now, I thought Teresa did a great job with her dark elf makeup and it looks to me way better than the black we use to use. Not really anything I saw wrong here just something awesomely right!
