(The following is posted openly in the Caladore tavern.)
The local tracker of a nearby hovel has reported finding an enormous amount of disemboweled animal carcasses spread around the woods in a very odd fashion, as if someone was preparing for a formal magic ritual with them. The villagers are paying for some adventurers to investigate as they no longer feel safe…
The southern marshlands are beginning to dry up as a result of large amounts of fire elemental activity in that area. If the fire elementals aren’t dealt with, the swamps and all the creatures within them will likely die or be forced upon the residents of Caladore. The Baron is paying for the task to be handled.
A contingent of “men who look like rats” or perhaps rats who look like men...are holed up in the cellar of a local vintner. As a result, both his livelihood and his home are threatened by the terrible things. He is paying for adventurers to clear them out.
There is a Wayfarer’s Stone left by the Essex troops from the civil war in the eastern highlands. The Baron is paying well for it to be destroyed, however it also has a circle of power around it which seems resistant to formal magic destruction. Any who can help will be handsomely compensated.
A spirit has been awakened, presumably due to the Festival’s beginning, in a children’s school on the edge of Caladore proper. She is causing a great deal of disruption and there is concern that the school will have to be closed forever if she is not put to rest. The Baron’s Master of coin is paying well for a resolution.
North of the docks, two nights ago the town guard found evidence of a murder in a tavern where several locals were preparing for the Festival. As they began to examine the bodies of many dead, they were attacked by creatures that breathed fire and had “heads like pumpkins”. Only one of the guardsmen escaped alive and he claims the creatures are still there. The Baron is paying any who would investigate the guard’s story.
The Black Sun Orcs have begun to take control of several city blocks in the docks district. They are charging the locals to travel through them, amongst other things. They landed their boats last market faire and ransacked the town a bit. They seem to have organized a bit more now, but there it still time to disrupt their activities before they get too rooted in. The Captain of the Guard of the docks district is paying well for them to be dispersed.
