*** In Between Game Action (IBGA) Reminder for 11/20 and explanation for those who are new to them! ***
As our November event quickly approaches it is time again to get those in between game actions submitted! Please do your best to have them in by Wednesday, 11/18 for a guaranteed response!
In speaking with many players recently, veterans and new, it has come to my attention that not everyone is familiar with IBGAs and/or how they work! Here's a quick breakdown...
Every attending player is entitled to one general IBGA for their character regardless of their craftsman other skills. For each craftsman other skill, you may submit an additional IBGA pertaining to said skill. The level of the CO skill (novice, journeyman, master, etc) will likely contribute to the amount of information gleaned from said CO specific IBGA. You may combine your efforts as well if you like. Here's an example ;
Your character has CO Smuggler x1 and CO Alchemical Researcher x10. A summary could be as follows...
* General IBGA : "I am going to local taverns and asking around for rumors regarding any kidnappings in the area as of late."
* CO Smuggler x1 IBGA : "I am going to the port of Caladore to look into who seems to be in control of any shady import/export dealings going on." (this could have been your general IBGA, but due to your CO knowledge, it is likely that you will glean more info by specifying with your CO).
* CO Alchemical Researcher x10 : "I am researching the long term alchemical effects that a particularly viscous ichor seems to have had on a the permanently dead body of the bandit leader I captured and killed at the last market day. I am trying to determine what sort of nefarious alchemical experiments were being done to him and how to possibly replicate them." (again, this could have been your general IBGA, but you are likely to have much more success using your master alchemical researcher knowledge in garnering much more information).
Our goal is to promote pro-active behavior from PCs and create a living, breathing world that you can interact with. IBGAs are not about linearity!!!
Your IBGA will be responded to by plot before the upcoming event that you are attending. In many instances this will set you up for mod opportunities and/or open doors to new plot devices that you wouldn't otherwise have had access to or have known about!
Please understand that IBGAs are not designed for any sort of immediate reward other than information, that is meant to be done at the event you are attending. IE : "I find a dragon, slay him, and steal all of his treasure," is not a valid IBGA, even if you have CO Dragon Slayer x10 wink emoticon. You certainly could use such a CO to search for information regarding dragons to possibly slay though... The spirit of the IBGA system is to promote pro-activity! Imagine if you showed up to a NERO event with a laundry list of things your character was ready to do just by going to the NPC shack as opposed to "waiting around for the weekend's plot to happen".
I can tell you that for me as a PC over the years, IBGAs have been the source of innumerable awesome experiences, roleplay, plotlines, and mods. As such, I would encourage everyone to submit them! It is up to you where you choose to go with them. No matter what, we WILL roll with it!
Make sure to have yours submitted to "plot@nerokzoo.com" asap (but ultimately by 11/18 for the 11/20 event ).
Stay tuned for the 11/20 teaser to be posted in the next 24 hours here and on our Facebook group! Make sure to check the forums intermittently as we still use these for many in game communications!
See you all in less than two weeks!!!
