A few of you have seen our post on Facebook - but we would like to invite everyone that wants, to Walk to Mordor with us. What is this you ask? www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/07/23/walking/If you don't know what Mordor is... it's OK we'll take you anyways, but you may lose your nerd card. Please post if you would like to join. We have a Facebook group - there is an awesome spreadsheet (I did mention this was a nerd fitness thing right?) - you will have to give us your hobbit/elf/dwarf name (google: hobbit/elf/dwarf name generator). We are starting this for 2013. So far we have about 8 people participating - at this rate we should be to Mordor and back by summer. It's an honor system thing - just report the miles walked to us and you can watch our progress to Mordor on the spreadsheet (seriously as a spreadsheet nerd - this spreadsheet is pretty awesome). We haven't thought of a name for our Fellowship yet... but we are working on it. The more people we have pushing us forward to Mordor the quicker we can get there and hopefully stay on track. We thought it would be a fun way to start the new year with our friends. Please post here or send Jack or I a Facebook message and we will get you added. Thanks, Shannon aka Keeva

Excellent post!
For those in the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area, I walk my golf course quite frequently, and while it may not be the same as traversing the impassible labyrinth of razor sharp rocks of Emyn Muil - it suffices for both 4.19 miles added to your journey and you will get the feeling of swinging some steel (albeit a golf club instead of a two handed sword). Great exercise and an easy way to tack on those miles. I will be doing this throughout the year and welcome any company.
Thank you Shannon! Ben
